Chelsea Heights Starts Leasing.. Finally
After 3 years in the construction phase, Prium’s Chelsea Heights project near Wright Park will finally see life. The once condo project is now a 78 unit apartment building and can be seen on numerous rental websites. From photos on Craigslist it does appear that some of the finishes have been downgraded from the original plans. The property management company is currently advertising a 2 bedroom unit for $1,150.
Now does anybody know what is going on with the retail space? It almost looks like it is going to be all storage units. You can see a lot of metal wall forms, very close together in the retail space when you drive by.

That could also indicate plans to offer small office spaces to freelancers/independent doctors, etc. Guess we’ll probably find out soon…
Very good news. The condos will add very needed employed humans in the area. If these are leased or sold, it makes little difference.
Do you think MultiCare could be moving into the Building?????????
FYI,
That is what I hear. I believe it will be Multicares billing dept.
They should put a restaurant in there…something faster than a traditional sit-down, but not fast food. With the 24/7 operation of Tacoma General, the restaurant would have a built-in customer base.
After all, you can only eat in the hospital cafeteria so many times
As of last week the building still appears to be unfinished with exposed barrier wrapping in some places. Are people living there?
Every night I drive by the whole building seems to be dark and I haven’t seen any lights on in any of the units.
They are still advertising on Craigslist — 1-bed/1-bath for $900.

Price is too high IMO for just a 1-bed… for a 2-bed $900 is more reasonable compared to what is out there in this market.
Looked the other day online at recorded docs and it looks like it might be going in to receivership. If that is the proper term. The docs stated Phillips Real Estate out of Seattle would take over management the property. Everything would be turned over to the receiver.
Yeah, I noticed that Phillips was now advertising these units.
Good luck filling up those 78 units at $900+ for 1-bed and up! This isn’t Seattle and they aren’t luxury Tacoma apts.
I read that the phillips real estate company hired a resident manager that ended up robbing two of the tenants. they just cant get their stuff together..
The renting price is not so outrageous considering the finishes and amenities, but I will say you could have the same thing in a more desireable downtown location with a view for the same/lower price:
